Being a huge music fan my whole life this story really caught my attention. Patients battling cancer at the Texas Children's Hospital now can escape and forget about everything through the power of music. The Hospital has set up a recording studio in the Hospital where children can record their own songs as they are going through cancer treatment. The recording program is called "Purple Songs Can Fly" and was founded by Anita Kruse, a Houston-based singer-songwriter, who raised $10,000 to start the program. More than 116 songs have been recorded since 2006 and many more are on the way. "There's a point where the kids realize they are not thinking about anything else. It's just about being in that creative place," said Kruse. I think this is an excellent program that provides a place where kids can smile and forget about their treatment. Kudos.
