Young 'bucket list' girl with Hodgkin's recognized with award

The young girl with Hodgkin's lymphoma from the United Kingdom who this past summer became an international sensation on social media sites after she published her 'bucket list' online has been named the UK's most inspirational young woman.

Alice Pyne, the 15 year old from south Cumbria, won her category at the Inspiration Awards for Women at Cadogan Hall, hosted by former GMTV presenter Andrew Castle and Sky News anchor Sarah-Jane Mee. The awards were created to celebrate women from diverse backgrounds who have inspired the country. Pyne herself was being recognized largely for her international campaign to encourage others to join the bone marrow registry.

Pyne beat out some serious competition in being given the award, including the likes of Harry Potter star Emma Watson, Victoria Beckham and singer Lady Gaga.

Alice's 12 year old sister Milly was also named the winner of her category, that of Most Inspirational Fundraiser , after raising more than £100,000, most of it going towards the Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The awards' founder also announced a special inspiration award for the work done by the entire family .
