Lymphoma and Female Fertility

Embryo freezing is a medically accepted way to preserve the possibility of fertility. First, the ovaries are stimulated to mature multiple eggs. Doctors remove the mature eggs and fertilize them in the lab with sperm from a partner or donor to create embryos. The fertilization process is called in vitro fertilization (IVF). Embryos are then frozen for future use. The steps required to freeze embryos take between two and six weeks.

Being a huge music fan my whole life this story really caught my attention. Patients battling cancer at the Texas Children's Hospital now can escape and forget about everything through the power of music. The Hospital has set up a recording studio in the Hospital where children can record their own songs as they are going through cancer treatment. The recording program is called "Purple Songs Can Fly" and was founded by Anita Kruse, a Houston-based singer-songwriter, who raised $10,000 to start the program. More than 116 songs have been recorded since 2006 and many more are on the way.
